A sweet, loose, queer adaptation of Little Women. This isn't for purists, and focuses for more directly on Jo, but it still hits the right notes for me.

Actual rating would be somewhere between a 3.5-4. I love a good adaptation with queer representation, good for lovers of Raina Telgemeier.

I thought that the premise of this book was really interesting - but I wasn't a big fan of the art style. I think this book would be really great for middle-school aged kids, but for me, the story was a bit infantile and it felts like the author could have made it more longer as to expand on certain points, as scenes felt rushed and underdeveloped at points.

A good Little Women adaptation for middle grade readers. I would recommend this for the younger of middle grade readers and having knowledge of the original is not a must.
To be honest, not a whole lot happens in this book. It was a cutesy and fluffy kind of read with modern day changes to the March family. Everything was overly positive though from Beth being ill to Jo coming out as gay. It did touch briefly on more realistic topics of the present day but it felt too positive to seem relatable.

I love that every single modern interpretation of Little Women have universally agreed that Jo was coded gay in the original text and truly wonderful.

While I was definitely not the target audience of this book, I loved it nonetheless. As a lifetime fan of Little Women and a lesbian, I can’t help but feel so grateful that this book is out in the world, and hope that some Little Women-loving middle schooler picks it up and learns a bit more about herself.
