Once I got into this book about 150 pages in, the story flew forward. It took a while for me to get into the plot, but for a dark romcom about two serial killers falling in love I thought it was great lol I’m looking forward to the rest of this trilogy! Definitely recommend checking trigger warnings.

This is my favorite dark romance book! It has so much humor embedded throughout the book and I found myself relating to Sloane’s introverted personality. Even the gory scenes were lighthearted. I loved all the steamy scenes and the FMC + MMC’s love for each other was a medium-paced burn.

Its... I really liked parts of it. But truly they did not feel like serial killers. They felt like two regular people with regular jobs who SOMETIMES murder other killers. And as fun as it was the kills are too short. The time jumps are lazy writing. And a lot of the like "gotchas" were... boring.

I respect the author for trying to make a serial killer romance but they need to be less insecure and more murdery. And also like don't just copy Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Hannibal. It's unimaginative and boring. The best part was the cannibalism at the end but even then you don't get enough "why" like where's my lengthy villian speech?

This book is a mix of contradictions, things that shouldn't work together: gory but sweet, dark but funny, unhinged but very approachable. I can understand the hype now. I'm not a fan of
the 3rd act breakup
, but at least this one didn't take too much time in the novel.

Yes, there are a ton of content warnings, but I still found the book very sweet. It's unique in a sea of the same tropes over and over again.

The narrators for the audiobook were really fantastic. This is dark humor done well.
