This is my first time reading any of Emezi's works & I was thoroughly impressed by their prose. They effortlessly and lyrically critiqued society's wish to turn a blind eye on atrocities with the illogical hope that if we don't acknowledge them that they will disappear. 10/10 - 5⭐️

i know i did not just spend this whole book thinking of Pet as my “little guy” only for it to be a goddamn biblical angel. that was wild. and also incredible. holy shit i’ve never speedrun a book so fast.
