Four friends in the woods, one is sick, the others panicked.
Two go for help.
One disappears.
The other....

Let's not bother much with that. Story finished.
Goodbye.

This was fun to read. It took me a while to take to the characters, but the dialogue is really well-written and that helped to set them apart.
Overall this short story is very diverting, but I agree with my fellow reviewers; the ending feels like half the story is missing.

There was something awful, May thought, awful in the original sense of the word, about looking up.

The cover totally caught my eye, but I felt like the story itself needed more.

2.5 stars. It wasn't a bad horror story but it was underdeveloped imo and that gave it a sloppy feel and the ending was ??? But it did have a creepy atmosphere. People getting food poisoning symptoms (and add here the otherworldly vibes) just creeps me out bc I've been through that twice and it's terrifying. The cover art is deserving of 5 stars, though.

It was creepy but it never went full on 2spooky for me. I was hoping for something more creepy, maybe if I had been reading this at night in bed I might've been a teensy bit more spooked by it.
