4 stars cause their relationship was too cute!! on the contrary of what i’ve seen people say in some reviews, i thought they had great chemistry, that’s why they connected and that’s why i didn’t get bored through the whole slow burning.
however, i feel like this cute slow burn deserved a better ending that it got. the ending felt a little rushed and i feel like every reader ended the book feeling confused cause there were so many things that weren’t explored in the book but should have been? let’s see, olly’s back story, lucas’s accident and his panic attacks (aka his baggage, that seemed to be the reason he couldn’t fully commit to rosie) and rosie’s background too. i feel like i didn’t get to meet the characters besides what they talked about when they were together and on their dates.
overall i think the romance between rosie and lucas is good and it has a LOT of potencial given the tropes this story includes?? forced proximity, roommates to friends to lovers, fake dating… i just wanted to connect to the characters cause they did have very interesting personalities

I loved this story. It kept me engaged the entire time and I felt like everything was well thought out. I actually liked this one more than "The Spanish Love Deception". This gets four stars for me because it delivers on everything you expect of a romance novel. There's a fun "pretend to be dating" trope, a couple spicier scenes, happy ending, and humorous moments.
My only critique is that who ever is editing these books needs to pay attention to detail. There's at lest 5 mistakes I came across. For example saying "her" when they really meant "him". I'm not sure since Armas is a Spanish writer if it was originally written in Spanish and what's really off is the translation. But even that didn't make sense with my minimal knowledge of Spanish. Stuff like that just bothers me.

“because i would have known then, that i’d been single only because no one had ever stolen my attention, scattered my thoughts so effortlessly. so completely. not the way you did.”
“i want you with every cell in my body. every nerve termination. every bone. every ounce of who i am.”
first off, i love our girl rosie. i love that she broke the stereotype of men having to do the cliche stuff most of the time. i love how she expressed what she felt with no hesitation and how much she was such a swoon-worthy character herself. she slayed!!!
lucas…ugh another perfect man that miss armas made. i loved him so much. his personality, his humor, his love for rosie, EVERYTHING!! he’s literally so perfect and such a golden retriever which i never usually see these days in the books im reading so his gentle, goofy personality made me so giddy to see.
their relationship as a whole was so beautiful. the equal giving and taking, the share of emotions, them taking care of each other. i love how both of them are cliche to each other and that usually its always the guy in books doing more romantic things and saying romantic words, but in this book its BOTH characters and i loved it so much i cried. i was so overwhelmed with the intensity of their relationship to the point i CRIED. i loved this book so god damn much. i wasn’t expecting a lot from it, and i just read it knowing that this was a spin-off of one of my fav romance books but this exceeded my expectations. this book also improved so much on the character depth compared to tsld as this had more connection, more backstory, and it really made us connect more to them. honestly i dont know which book was better so i’d say they’re both equally perfect.
a million stars !!!!!!
