This was a nice novella to break up all of the holiday romances I have been reading. This was my first Peter Swanson and I will continue to read more of his work. This book wasn't so much surprising as it was just very well done and well written. It had all of the trimmings of Christmas with darker elements throughout. The sense of foreboding I had from the beginning to the end speaks to his writing. This is dark and sinister with splashes of Christmas throughout.

I prefer PS’s longer books more than this one. It was fine, but more formulaic and less suspenseful than the others I have read.

i wasn’t fully sure how much i liked this, it took me like 3 hours to actually get through the first 40 pages, but then i read the rest of it in 90 minutes
