I really enjoyed the wonderland parts and Katz and Alice relationship, i also liked how the characters in kexford had wonderland versions, but I didn't care about the politics in Kexford parts.

3 stars. Ehh. I’m already not the biggest ‘Alice in Wonderland’ fan and this retelling didn’t help. The writing was good but the plot was just so all over the place and so nonsensical to the point that I lost interest a lot of the time. It’s only getting three stars because I liked the beginning and the ending. The middle was dull though.

This is BY FAR my least favorite from the Twisted Tales series. I’ve never liked Alice in Wonderland so I went into this one with incredibly low expectations...somehow they weren’t low enough.
I mean... I don't even know? I simultaneously enjoyed it and found it incredibly annoying

I didn’t truly know what to expect from this book. What I didn’t really expect was the Tim Burton version of Alice in written form. I wanted a different retelling, but it seemed like the Tim Burton Alice films combined and made into one book. It wasn’t bad, I haven’t met an Alice retelling I didn’t like, but it wasn’t excellent either.
Alice is not the same little girl that fell in a rabbit’s hole to Wonderland. She’s now an 18 year old young lady whose favorite hobby is taking pictures and developing them at her Aunt Vivian’s house. Alice is more of a free spirit compared to her family who wants to be respectable members of high society. One day while Alice was developing the photographs she took of people in her community, she noticed something strange. The world she thought was once a dream tried to send her a message. Wonderland is in peril and her friends need her help. Will she be in time, or is it too late??
This isn’t my favorite of the “Twisted Tale” series as I don’t particularly like “Alice in Wonderland” the fairytale. It was longer than it needed to be and its constant switch between the two different worlds confused me a bit. However, there were still a few memorable cute parts that made it worth completing.
