È stato come leggere un teen movie e ho adorato questa cosa. Nella sua semplicità fila tutto e mi è piaciuto molto!

Ho apprezzato in particolare:
- come viene rivalutato il ruolo e l'impegno delle cheerleader
- l'amicizia femminile che si instaura tra le quattro
- le mille citazioni alle commedie romantiche americane anni 80

Davvero un libro perfetto per me! ❤️

This was really cute. Irene is the popular girl and Scottie is the unpopular basketball girl. They fake date and fall in love. I liked seeing a relationship that was rivals to lovers, yet still a healthy relationship dynamic.
One of my pet peeves with this (and with other YA books) is no one calls people Mr. and Mrs unless they are teachers. And even then by high school teachers were getting rid of it. I don’t understand why books and shows insist on this, because it hasn’t been a thing for 30 plus years. We are keeping with the times in other ways, but why are books and shows not showing this? It takes me out of the story and makes me feel like we are back with 50s housewives.

introspective, smart, and well-written. adorable and fun! love the overthrowing of so many stereotypes and the ability of the characters to think critically and reflect!

if you’re looking for a cute queer romance, this is it! i would have liked a bit more development on both of the main characters personalities, but other than that, i liked it! :)
