Hard to read if you have no prior knowledge of warhammer and it’s complex lore
I really enjoyed this entry. It is so fascinating to get the Primarch’s perspective on the state of the Imperium and how fall it fell. Just seeing how he weaves his strategy to not fall to the same traps that led him to his downfall against Fulgrim is really captivating. It is fun reading back on this to see how they tied in all the new models at the time into the book, some may find it annoying product placement, but I am a huge simp for this universe and just love it.

I was gifted this book as a likely bid to indoctrinate me into Warhammer. This plot did not succeed.
Whilst to a fan this book is likely filled with references and information that speaks to a greater universe, for me it was overwhelming as a new reader and it felt as though I missed a lot of nuance the book might otherwise present.
Because of that I can't in good faith leave a review, besides a warning that you might need more universe-building before starting this series if you're looking to get into Warhammer.
