(Rating closer to a 2.5 rather than a 5).

I honestly don't have much to say about this one! It was pretty good, but it didn't have as much romance as I would have liked.

Selah is such bi*ch and I hope Bill gets rid of her - I don't appreciate her harassing Sookie

The queen orchestrating the deaths of the Arkansas vamps wasn't that surprising and I'm shocked that Sookie didn't even consider that possibility.

I still don't really trust Quinn but I guess I'll have to wait and see.

It was honestly delightful to be back in Sookies chaotic world of Vampires, Werewolves and countless other supernatural beings. This book was just a good time. I love Sookie’s southern charm and I feel with each book her character develops a little more and more from this nieve character that we were first introduced to. It’s been slow and subtle but enjoyable all the same. These books are just an outrageous good time and one I look forward to continuing soon.

Jesus all those suitcases were painfully obvious. They really need better security at these places. But at least now I can finally see a practical reason why Eric can fly, because that's kinda the lamest vampire power ever.

These books are like gummy candy--addicting and without much substance.

I tend to read these after a particular difficult or dark book. Sookie Stackhouse continues to be easy and enjoyable to read. This book was an interesting dive in the world but did seem to be a bridge and didnt move the story along much.

Not reading any more of this series any time soon. Disappointing- wanted to love it.

The next installment of the Sookie Stackhouse series has Sookie traveling with the Queen of Louisiana to the summit where all vampires and their entourage gather in a conference type setting. They plead court cases, sell products, and party at a big ball. Sookie is there to read the human minds, but comes to find that nothing ever goes as planned. The Queen and her party are weak after Hurricane Katrina and trying to regain power in their region. Sookie finds herself up against the Queen’s child, and becomes bonded to Eric in the process, unsure about the consequences. And when tragedy strikes the hotel, Sookie finds herself wondering who she can trust and what will happen next.

I enjoyed this book more than the previous, and am very intrigued as to where book 8 will take her character and relationships. Considering I only have a couple left to last me until the next release, I’m going to try and string out the next read as long as possible and catch up with some other books.

this is probably my favourite so far perhaps because the show covered none of it and it was cool and exciting not knowing how it ends. Pam is so delightful I felt genuinely scared for her. also crazy how sookie and eric haven't fucked for like 3 books now but their bond just got way more delicious. they're STILL thinking about it. god!!!!!!
