I think this book needed to be longer and start farther back in their story. I wasn't really able to connect with the characters.

O My God!!!!
This is a debut book!
This books is so sexy and had me blushing for more than once.It is a story about childhood friends that are following their dream careers and try to keep their love and relation alive even if they have to do it at long distance as Dowson is a rock star and is always on the go with the band and also has to be seen as a young Rockstar with no strings attached and living the life that everyone expects.
Izzy is an artist and for her,Dawson is everything, she tries to be as supportive as she can be but although he is totally into her and demonstrates it every day she has her insecurities and ends up heartbroken as something happens and he just becomes MIA.

Half of the book has very descriptive sexy scenes that I found them very well done.

I wanted a bit more of his POV at the end and obviously there are a lot of questions that we needs answers for and hopefully we will get them in the second instalment.I love second chance romance and waiting for the next book

OMG how can you leave the ending like that! I'm fuming!!! I need the next book like now! How can you do that! So many things are left unanswered which is really bugging me :(

This is probably the first book that the ending has well and truly left me gobsmacked! I really liked Dawson but I'm not so sure now, I really do hope the second book has a good explanation and grovelling!!

This Author is new to me and I'm glad I got the chance to read one of her books! I loved her writing, and everything was in so much detail and very beautifully written. Read in one sitting as I couldn't get enough of it. Roll on book 2!

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book. I wished we could have been at the beginning of their relationship. I really hated the end because up until Dawson was perfect. I can't wait to read the next book.

Beats of the Heart is the wonderful debut novel by Charli B. Rose, and is the first book in the Lyrical Odyssey Rock Star Series. This story is friends-to-lovers/rockstar romance at it’s absolute best. It is a tale of friendship heartbreak, loss, stardom, heartache, emotion, drama, mystery, and so much more.

I genuinely loved this debut novel. Izzy and Dawson’s love for each other is pure and awe-inspiring. It literally pours out through the pages, and it just exudes in how they are with each other physically and emotionally. I thought that Dawson and Izzy were wonderfully crafted characters who really tugged at my heartstrings. I thoroughly enjoyed following the the highs and lows of their relationship. This was a couple who were childhood best friends turned sweethearts, and then lovers. They truly have had quite the journey. I found the plot unique and interesting, well paced, and it left room for both conflict and growth. The writing is rock solid with a great use of descriptive imagery.

This book took me on a emotional rollercoaster ride, but I know there is a lot more to come. There are major unanswered questions, and some mystery surrounding the way things were left off. I don’t think certain events are as cut and dried as they may appear and I suspect that there is a massive plot twist that will explain everything. I absolutely cannot wait to see how it all plays out in the next book.

A breathtakingly good debut novel!!!

Beats of the Heart by Charli B. Rose is a Rockstar romance that ends on a cliffhanger but I still say you need to read it. I have read a lot to Rockstar romance but this story was a little different – Izzy and Dawson are already a couple, they are childhood friends turn lovers for about 3 years now. I’m so used to the boy meets girl, fall in love type book, this was a nice change. Izzy and Dawson are perfect for each other; supportive of the others dreams and do everything to make this long-distance relationship work.
For this being Charli’s first novel, I have to say well done. The story flows and had me feeling every word. I am sitting on the edge of my seat, waiting for the next book to come out so I can find out what happens next.

This was a wonderful debut novel for this author and I am really excited to read the second book. I was drawn into the story fairly quickly and the ending definitely left me with questions, hence why I can’t wait to get my hands on book 2! Dawson and Izzy’s story was wonderful to follow and I could truly feel the love and connection that they had. I do have a slight soft spot for rock star romance stories so that is probably why I loved this one as much as I did. The writing was excellent and the author really brought her characters to life and gave them a real life feeling to them, I felt, as a reader, like I was living the highs and lows of their relationship with them, it was a very engaging read. I adored the way Dawson loved Izzy, it’s the kind of love I think everybody wants to experience. She was everything to him and he was the same to her. As I said previously with how the story ended I can’t wait to see what happens next – I hope the author isn’t about to break my heart!
A fantastic debut novel that I highly recommend!

This is a second chance-friends to lovers story that pulled at my heartstrings. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It is my first book by this author, I enjoyed how creative the story was and the characters were relatable. The emotional roller coaster ride Izzy and Dawson took me on kept me turning pages until the end. He is a rocker who has been in love with her since childhood. They certainly give long distance relationship a new name. I highly recommend reading their story.
