I kind of wanted to DNF like 20% in but wanted to see how it ended. To be honest it was very boring and the romance was not it and the plot itself was not very good. The blurb sounded good but the book? not really. Also, I can't stand the narrators, they sound like google translate so I had to listen to it at 2x speed which didn't really help much. Also didn't really like the characters (other than Esther and Gabby-idk how to write their names because I listened to it as an audiobook) especially the main characters soo, did not make the book any better.

This was a very sweet read, especially for witchy season. I loved Meg Cabot as a kid, her Mediator series is still one of my favorite series from when I was younger! So reading a new book by her, was like stepping back into my childhood! It also makes me want to reread the Mediator series again! A Meg Cabot book is just as good as when I was a kid. I would definitely recommend it, especially if you loved her books as a kid!

This book was a bit of a a letdown for me. I was really hoping for more.

I felt like Jessica and Derrick lacked chemistry. I wanted them to be together but I didn’t feel anything between them.
He said he loved her after only knowing her a few days. She fully trusted him immediately and he moved in after a couple days. It all moved too fast for me
.

I liked the LGBTQ+ rep (although brief) and the way it was written without question. I also enjoyed the mystery aspect, trying to figure out Derrick’s motives and what he’s hiding. Dina was probably my favorite character. She was reasonable, practical, and funny.
Gaia was also pretty cool. I wanted to see more of her. She seemed nuanced and complex
.

My biggest issue with this book is that the ending was just very underwhelming
They built up this fight with demons and Esther’s amazing powers for her to talk about justice and save the town that way? It felt so unsatisfying. Also, the whole scene with Ethan felt rushed and unsettled.
