YO, THIS WAS WILD.
I've been feeling a bit 'bleugh' and needed something easy to read. I picked up The Housemaid thinking it was just another empty-head thriller - and for the first half that's what I got. The set up for this has you believing it's just another run of the mill thriller - it has all the tropes and characters you expect.
I'm so glad I stuck with it because things really flip after the halfway point and I devoured the last 50% when things got cray-cray.
The Housemaid is one of those books that is better the less you know - but stick with it for the twist!
Throughout reading this I couldn't believe it had got a sequel... I now understand why and I will most probably read it at some point.
I'm interested in reading more from Freida McFadden - I haven't decided yet but she could have the potential to be an auto-buy author for me. Sometimes you just need a fun, easy thriller.
