I received BEDLAM & BELFRY, INTERGALACTIC ATTORNEYS AT LAW as an ARC from NetGalley.com.

I love short stories, and this collection has an interesting premise, but it fails to deliver. I liked the first couple (one of them because it revolved around a talking dachshund) but it got repetitive very quickly. None of the stories are told from the point of view of Bedlam or Belfry, yet every single one is written with language that sounds like it's out of the driest textbook, no matter who the narrator is. It's not believable, and it's boring.

But I did like the talking sausage dog.

Fans of Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett would find this tale amusing, it possesses that same wit and humor that the aforementioned authors often showcase.

This book follows the questionable attorneys Bedlam & Belfry, they happen to be open for business and it follows them from case to case which varies. It's a compilation of short stories that intertwine in some fashion, and each chapter has a new narrator, but the narration doesn't seem to change so each character seems to be fairly one dimensional. They aren't exactly their own characters.

It was an okay read for me, something to take along with me to the doctors office and speed through, but it was lacking in several areas for me.

Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for the ARC of this novel in exchange for my honest review.

This book was a collection of short stories about a law firm of questionable reputation set sometime in the future. Each story was told in a different character point of view.
However I felt that there was some sci-fi missing from the stories and the narrators sounded more or less the same throughout the book.

There were some funny moments, but all in all it lacked some energy.
