Was a bit slow from the middle but the ending was shocking enough for me to start the 3rd book of the series

The main characters could be annoying at times, but I absolutely loved the world. Truly felt like a fairytale. Overall, it was a fun, light read!

This was such a whimsical book that reminded me of a world if Lemony Snicket was a Wes Anderson film

Magical. Twisty. Jacks.

I was always looking forward to getting back to this book but let’s be honest it’s not good. The writing was trying to be dramatic/serious sometimes but it was a cringey, silly little magic book. I don’t care for Jacks either let’s see if he gets better. I like that the main character isn’t some badass fighter like most mains in YA so that was refreshing.
