This was such a cute book. Following Griffin and Luca’s story from when they met as pen-pals in their childhood until present day as they rekindle, was such a heartfelt journey. Watching all that unfolds as they learn what they have missed in those years without contact was adorable and vulnerable. Through all that is brought to light, they love and accept one another no matter what.

Dirty Letters and Happy Hearts

It wasn't a question of if I would like this book. I knew I would like it. I assumed I would smile. I didn't expect to cry. (Silly, I know because I'm an emotional ninny.) But Dirty Letters (and the accompanying song- OMG, just wow!) stole my heart and took it with each letter sent.

I honestly believe these two (Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward) are either fairy godmothers in disguise or the newest version of the Grim brothers but with much better endings! Dirty Letters is a wonderful and extremely romantic tale of friends that were lost and have been found. It's a story of young love being recognized. It's a story of overcoming fears and loving people for who they are not who they could be.

It's also an emotional journey that will leave you smiling through tears. Best of all, it will be an ear to ear smile of perfect contentment.

Two elementary age children become penpals, a girl from the US (Luca) and a boy from England (Griffin). They write to each other until their early teens but eventually lose touch. Many years pass, and they are grown adults when they rekindle their connection via letter writing. There are so many things to address, why they had ever stopped talking, what life had been like during their silence, and what it all meant for them going forward. Could they have a relationship in person or were the obstacles they faced too much? So many sweet parts to this story, and of course the usual steamy stuff we've come to know and love from these authors. I really loved it.

***** I listened to the audio book *****
This book was just lovely! It was word perfection with the best combo of sweet and sexy. I laughed, cried and felt the heat in several occasions. The narrators were top notch and I enjoyed their voices so much. They truly brought the characters to life. I highly recommend this book.

Honestly I think I overhyped this book. It had everything I loved: letters, famous but the other doesn’t know, and a heroine that you’re able to get inside their head. The first half was pretty great but after that I just felt bored. I really didn’t even enjoy it anymore and wanted to finish already. It seemed a little repetitive but I just wish it made me feel more in the second half.

I loved this. I listened to the audiobook and absolutely loved the narration.

Whenever I wasn't listening to it I was constantly thinking about it.
