Second time reading this. Still not my fave. Akasha was honestly so self-righteous and annoying that I just kept waiting for someone to get rid of her lol. I think the most interesting part of this book was just the story from Maharet that explain how vampires came to be.

Un poco triste porque Akasha se merecía algo mejor, pero qué se le va a hacer. Yo pensaba que el final me haría querer dejar de leer la saga, pero la verdad es que ahora tengo más ganas del siguiente... Cuando haya superado la intensidad filosófica de este libro.

Though this dragged at times I am still in awe at the beauty of how it’s written and it has solidified The Vampire Chronicles as a favorite series. I love Anne Rice’s writing, her world, and her characters. Such a quintessential author to read.

i wanted to like this more than i did. the premise and storylines are interesting. but could we have gotten there a lot sooner? this meeting should have been an email.

My first attempt at reading this last year I was thrown off by the narrative structure and alternating POVS and such. but yknow it actually really grew on me rather quickly this go around and i really rather enjoyed it…obviously considering im giving it 5 stars :)
A whole star just for the Devil's Minion chapter. Lives were changed
