Elkeles writing was so smooth.... like butta. It just flowed right of the page, it was like I wasn’t even reading... I was there. I was Brittany, I was Alex. It was powerful. On the surface it may read like a love story but there is so much more going on. It’s a story of life lessons. Don’t judge a person by the color of their skin, don’t judge a person by the way that they look, talk, where they live.... I could go on. But I’ll stop there, and leave you with the recommendation to pick it up.

My usual kind of books are fantasy books. However, I really fancied a change so I asked all the members for Love Fantasy Novels and most of them told me I had to read Perfect Chemistry. And I am so glad I did. I have never been hooked onto a non fantasy book from page one and I really feel in love.

Perfect Chemistry is a story of star-crossed love, gangs, high school and falling in love with the wrong person. Its take you on an emotional rollercoaster and will having you laughing and crying even long after finishing the book (yes I was meaning me, I sat for about 10 mins after it still crying with sadness and happiness).

The two main characters are a real delight to read. Brittany is a "Popular" girl that has everything that she wants, Or so it may seem. Alex is a the gangmember who you fall hopelessly in love with and hope he get the type life he deserves. They are both very strong characters that really made me thankful for life I have.

Simone really is a genius with words. Her writing just beautiful and flows really easily. Even when she is writing some things in spanish and even though don't know any spanish it still didn't take away how the story flowed. She really has did her homework on the story line. She tackles a hard topic with the gangs but manages to capture every aspect of it.

I now I have just order Rules of Attraction and I am looking forward to Chain Reaction when it comes out. And also, Thank you Simone for introducing me to a genre I never thought I would like!

WHY DID I WAIT SO LNG TO READ THIS SEIRES!?!?! It was awesome.

I had no idea that Simone Elkeles was also the author of How to Ruin a Summer Vacation. I was thrilled when I found out though because I adored the whole series of How to Ruin... Now onto the review.

I'm sure many of you have already read this book and wondered why it took me so long to read it. It's because I heard too many good things about it. I find that when I hear about something that is supposed to be amazing, I'm usually let down. I like to read, see, ect. something with an open and unbiased mind so I get my true opinion. If you feel the same way, please be careful as you read my review.

I fell in love with this book right from the start. The relationship between Brittany and Alex is so complex and so romantic. You won't know what hit you when you pick up this book. Not only will you feel both characters emotions, but you will also lose yourself in those emotions.

The alternating points of view of Perfect Chemistry make this book amazing. It lets you see who both the characters are and why they do/think what they do. I usually have a favorite point of view to read from, but not in this book. Both characters are dynamic and intriguing. You will want more Alex and Brittany when you're done.

Overall, the book was fantastic and I'm upset it took me so long to pick it up. I haven't read a good teen romance in awhile, but this has brought me out of that slum.

i'm not entirely sure why but i LOVED this book.

it was just as it said, the classic contemporary romance. at least plotwise. badboy bets he can screw cute girl - ends up falling in love, this type of stuff. but there were of course a few other aspects that are not so classic.
i loved loved loved the characters and i loved the plot i don't know why usually i'm not the person who likes contemporary that much, but this was awesome and fluffy and cute and sad and i loved the ending!!

won't continue this series though BECAUSE:
the other two books follow the stories of alex' two brothers and i just love alex and brittany so much, so i loved this book, but i don't think i want to know more about his brothers sorry...

this book was definitely a good read and it's beautifully resolved in th end aaawh

Read this book when I was a freshman in high school and it’s the book that sparked my love for reading so it’ll always have a special place in my heart. Don’t get me wrong I’ve always loved reading even as a kid (Frog and toad were my shit) but as I got older I had lost that love and I remember picking this book up and I finished it in a few hours and made my mom drive me to Barnes and noble the next day and buy me the other two books in the series. I proceeded to buy every Simone Elkeles book there was. This is definitely another core book

I don’t know if 23 year old me would still rate this book 5 stars but 14 year old me loved this book and re read it allll the time (my book is destroyed after re reading it so many time) I think I can still recite the entire first chapter of the book. THATS how many times I re read it.

Alex was my favorite book boyfriend for so long and I was a sucker for Brittany and Alex’s relationship :’) I was a sucker for the entire series if I’m being honest

Well-written :D And... beautiful ending xD

I read this a while ago and I always meant to review but never ended up getting around to it until now. I have a few things I want to say, the first that it wasn't entirely unenjoyable, the low rating reflects several things but I want to point out that I understand why so many people love this book and I think it would be better for the majority to read it themselves and make their own minds up - I know that I am again in the minority.

It's quite a nice Romeo and Juliet type of forbidden romance. Alex Fuentes is an outsider, a gang member, and his kind and Britney's do not mix. Britney is the most popular girl in school, very pretty and a cheerleader (of course), it always seems in these types of scenarios it's only a matter of time before she gets fed up with her squeaky clean world and falls for a bad boy - which is what happens. But the whole thing is such a cliche.

A cheerleader and a bad boy... it's Grease except the male love interest is Mexican, but the ideas are generally the same. The story is very predictable and therefore quite dull, despite the fact that there is definitely chemistry built up in the book. There are some fairly hot, if not very descriptive, sex scenes that set the book apart from all the other cliched teen romances - this I liked. But it still didn't make up for the extreme lack of originality on the author's part. There was also the usual (and annoying) displays of self-doubt and insecurities that seem to go hand in hand with romance novels.

I know it'd be no fun if they got together in chapter one, but why do they both always have to start questioning themselves. Especially seeing as sometimes it's blatantly obvious that the other person likes them, they couldn't be sending off much stronger signals if they came out with a banner saying "I'm into you". Are we really expected to feel sorry for Britney when she's checking herself out in a mirror and complaining about her faults? This is a girl who we are repeatedly told is Barbie come to life: perfect figure, perfect skin, hair, teeth... sorry, but the pity isn't there.

The thing is... the book is really... cute. But I'm tired of Ms good girl cheerleader meets mr bad boy gang member. That's why my rating is "it's ok", I wouldn't go as far as to say I actually liked it.
