Good book to read on a jouney. The mystery is quite simple and climax predicatble but the waving of characters is good. The best part is not mystery its the growing up of liz and story of granfather.
The plethora of characters, languages, cities, and relationships in this book was a little overwhelming and hard to follow. I enjoyed the novel very much, but I often had to question who was who etc

It was so good... that is, until I read the ending.
The book has so much promise. I like Sidney Sheldon novels but this one started with a bang and ended so badly, at least for me. They were able to find out who wants to kill Elizabeth but that's it. All the characters in the book were so well described and I was expecting their endings to be as such. Unfortunately, Elizabeth's safe, but what of Ivo's infidelity? What did Simonetta do with him? How about Helene? Will she still want Elizabeth to die? What about Rhys? How does he really feel about Elizabeth? Did he agree with Helene?
In summary, this book was good but there wasn't much resolution.

I'm really confused as to what rating I want to give because the suspense build-up was absolutely incredible but the ending...was kind of a rude awakening. But I'll probably stick with the 3 stars I guess.
I liked the plot. It was kind of predictable but still was not able to put down the book. Sheldon knows how to entertain and indulge the reader.
Although brilliantly written, it was predictable at times.
PERFECTION!!! Rhys, Elizabeth... Could these two have been any more perfect for each other? Helene Roffe scared the shit out of me! And Alec... COME ON!! Oh Sidney, you always, always blow my mind.

Li este livro há uns 20 ou 25 anos, tal como toda a obra de Sidney Sheldon. Adorei de tal forma que se me perguntassem quem era o meu autor favorito, diria o nome dele sem pensar 2 vezes.
Andava com vontade de reler, mas até tinha medo de me desiludir.. Mas tal não se verificou, era um escritor fabuloso, manteve-me sempre agarrada, super intrigada.
