Now I’m ready to read the actual Reacher novels. After ELEVEN NUMBERS I wasn’t sure I wanted to read Child’s writing. These were MUCH better stories.
I’ll admit, I have a strong preference for Reacher in longer format tales. That opinion is based on many of the tales in this collection — I’d already read most of not all of the reprints in this collection, and was struck on first reading that the pacing of Lee Child’s novels are an integral piece of Reacher, to me, and short stories don’t allow for the same experience. That said, I enjoyed revisiting the stories more than the first go-round, and actually really enjoyed the stories where he only pops up as a minor character. All in all, fun if you’re already a Reacher fan, but don’t expect a novel-esque experience.

I'm currently stuck between 2 books which I'm losing motivation for so this was a nice distraction while on holiday to cleanse the palate. It turns out Reacher works quite well in small doses. T
These short stories, vignettes and novellas are still somewhat patchy (much like the full length novels) but there's a lot to like and some fun (if not sometimes ludicrous) situations. I particularly liked the flashback stories detailing his time in the MP. Good fun and you know what you're going to get.

A book of his short stories. A few just a few pages, others 100+ pages. Classic Reacher.
A couple of these short stories were so poor I struggled to finish them. Whilst others were pretty enjoyable.
I do wonder though, whilst Reacher is continuously spoken of as having a toothbrush, he doesn't seem to carry deodorant....
