I really enjoyed this book. Initially it seemed like it would be a straightforward teen romance but it turned out to be so much more. It was really well written & a great insight of what it is like to be a second generation Vietnamese/American & the challenges that come with parental expectation. The characters were intelligent & sweet, a feel good book.

I really enjoyed this one. It was everything you’d want from a modern day Romeo and Juliet. It was adorable and funny and I loved the inclusion of the Vietnamese language throughout. The characters were fun and likeable and I loved the ending.

As a YA romcom, this gets 5 stars! I enjoyed Bao and Linh and their star-crossed relationship so much! The high school newspaper giving them restaurant reviews was such a great plot point. I liked their relationship and their friends. The complicated family drama was interesting too.
