This isnt really the writing I expected by such an important figure in literature. Some of the points of the book are well thought, but others are just blend thoughtless. Some things are just banally shoved aside. Not really the best book but maybe in wrong for starting to read Umberto eco with this

Quick, easy, but important read. I read this book in one short sitting, but I'm sure it has given me a lot to reflect on. It's the transcription of a speech Eco gave in 1995, and some considerations didn't hold the test of time too well, but in general terms it's as relevant today as it always has been and will be.
