3.5 because it should have been shorter/the side characters should have been fleshed out more.
Not a 'fun' book to read, but it's not meant to be. Deeply uncomfortable, at times truly repulsive, the darkness slowly, but surely, diffusing into you with every page. Certainly one that evokes emotions that you don't necessarily seek out to experience when reading for leisure so thread carefully.
