Great family read-aloud for upper elementary and middle grade readers. Both 4th and 6th grade aged kids couldn't wait to hear more. Lots of interesting issues for discussion.

Was listening to, audiobook expired, meh. The usual story.

It took almost half of this book just to set up the story. Once it did, it was fun. Wish it had been edited down just a bit

New kid + friendships + ancient greek philosophy + reality tv.

I really wish I enjoyed this book as much as I enjoyed the last 70 pages of it. When Paulie enters the story, the book burst to life. Everything before that point was kind of basic and boring.

This was such a good MG book! I felt like it did a great job showing kids they should be themselves and kind to others.

I often complain about the quirkiness factor in novels and this one does have that FOR SURE but it never crossed the line for me into complete unbelievability. And who wouldn’t want to go to a school like this? It charmed me and also had heart. Thumbs up.

Great characterization, not only in Caitlyn's character development over the course of the novel but also in the secondary characters, many of whom are very vivid and well developed. It was so interesting how Ali Benjamin weaves in philosophy lessons in this story of a quirky class of 7th graders.

Content Note: Mobbing.
