“But even if they could go home it would be difficult for me to tell you what the moral of the story is. In some stories, it's easy. The moral of 'The Three Bears', for instance, is "Never break into someone else's house". The moral of 'Snow White' is "Never eat apples". The moral of World War One is "Never assassinate Archduke Ferdinand.”

The realistic child advice book.
Yes kids, the world isn't kind, Your parents may die and even knowing that your situation is better than alot of other kids won't lessen your suffering.
With that being said, the books do follow the same structure therefore I wouldn't recommend binge reading them. All the characters have one personality trait each, which is something I didn't mind since it's directed towards children. The author is trying to simplify complicated facts to young children, having complicated trauma based characters will add insult to injury.
