Good but....

Ok, so I absolutely LOVE this series and I definitely don't want it to end and it really pains me to give this a three star rating vs. the five star rating that I normally give. However, First Kiss just fell short from the other books in this series. It was slow at the beginning, there was too much added thoughts from Sang that seemed to kinda repeat the same thing over and over again and there were a lot of grammatical errors in this as well. I found this to be super strange because all of the other books were awesome and hardly contained any grammatical issues. The story was still good and likable, but was slow in capturing my interests fully. I hope this was just a fluke and that the next book will be back to normal. I like where this story is headed though and I hope C. L. Stone continues this series for quite some time.

Trouble

A camping trip for academy recruits.... what could go wrong? Well, considering this is Sang and her brood... a lot.

A good teenage tale filled with mystery, angst and blooming new love, all wrapped in a CIA’esque type adventure.

You can call these books unrealistic.. guilty pleasures...whatever you want, but they are addictive and I have a great time reading them! I binge read this series up to this point, and I can't wait for the next book!

This review will contain some spoilers from previous books, but not from this particular book. It's a bit hard to avoid when you're reviewing book number ten in a series.

I had come so close to getting beyond that mood where all I want to do is read the Academy books. And now I'm right back there, because this book is just so good! This series is such a guilty pleasure, because I feel like I shouldn't enjoy them nearly as much as I do.

This book was exactly what I've wanted from the series for so long! Finally, we get to have to some answers about the Academy, and see more of Sang and her world than just the guys. Not that we don't get to see the guys as well, but there was a lot more to it, and it really started to feel like the series was pushing ahead and getting somewhere brand new.

The Good Points of First Kiss:

We finally get to see more of the Academy and learn about how it works! A lot of it was stuff you might have sort-of figured out if you also follow the Scarab Beetle series and the cheat sheets, but it was nice to have it all laid out, and details filled in.

It was awesome to see Sang working with some other people. And not people who are trying to hurt her. It created a new dynamic for her, and gives a bit more insight to the kind of person she is when she isn't surrounded by the guys. All of the new characters are fantastic, as well.

It was really neat to have the folks from Ghost Bird and those from Scarab Beetle come together a bit. I have not been able to get into Scarab Beetle as much as Ghost Bird, but still.

Kota's book! I absolutely adore Kota, so it was great to get to his book. I wish he had been around a lot more, but it did work, and I was pleased with where everything ended up.

The Downsides of First Kiss:

As with every other book in this series, the author really needs to get a good editor on this. While better than some others, there were still a number of very obvious mistakes that should have been caught before this was released.

I feel like there were some loose ends that should have been tied up. Maybe they will be later, but it seemed like something that should have been done sooner, as it was never major details.

I didn't like the name of the book. I don't understand how it fit, and it wasn't explained. And it's cheesy. Minor detail, though.

All in all, I really enjoyed this book. It made me want to go back and re-read all ten books again, even though I have a ton of other books still sitting on my TBR. Back to waiting on the next one, I guess.

You know when you read a series or book and you just know that it will stick with you forever. That is the Ghost Bird Series by CL Stone for me. I read this series when I was 17 going on 18 and I am 22 now and this series has still stayed in my heart. This was also the first romance book series that I read and it changed the course of my life.

This is an RH slow burn romance, and when I say slowburn, I mean slowburn. But it's the best slow burn imaginable and honestly you don’t even realize that Sang has not kissed anyone because of all the conflict and drama.

There is honestly so much conflict in this series that my head spins. Plus the guys are so swoon worthy, the things they say makes me squeal and makes me so flustered.

I love the plot, characters, and the mystery. Who is after the Sang and her guys? I swear there is so much that happens in this series that I could not possibly explain all of it.

Sang is unique and all of her guys are unique and different yet they all have one thing in common, Family first which is one of the reasons I adore this series.

I will forever re-read this series and cherish these characters. They are special to me. So far I’ve read and reread books 1 through 12 and I cannot wait to read books 13 and 14 and the other 6 books when CL Stone releases them. Oh Yes, this is a long series.
