Really enjoyable. The couple was adorable and handled their individual issues instead of expecting their relationship to nullify their issues. I also liked that there was discussion about how Alexei’s faith was important to him and that religion didn’t have to just be a cudgel to be used against the LGBTQ community. A really sweet book all in all.

God. Dammit. I think I’m dehydrated from crying the entire last half of this audiobook. But it was totally worth the pain. It’s a beautiful book about 2 men walking the Pacific Coast Trail both trying to work through painful past experiences. They fall in love and have to navigate fear and distance to get their HEA. The narrator is amazing and I’ll be adding him to my list of favorites to look for. Highly recommend.

After adoring Love & Other Disasters, I had high expectations for this and it did not disappoint.
After recovering from an opening scene that felt more horror than romance, (although, admittedly, Anita did a fabulous job at making even the most terrifying scenario adorable), I found myself instantly caring deeply for Alexei and Ben's journeys, both as individuals and together.
It's a slow burn of a story and not one for those looking for a fast paced, action filled read but it's thoughtful and sweet and, while heart breaking at times, really rather lovely.

Very sweet read. I liked how many of the tropes were handled and that it was a good balance between wish fulfillment and reality.

I really liked this book but I feel like it could have been 75 pages shorter. The middle felt redundant and it didn’t feel like the growth of the characters kept pace with the number of pages
