12/2021 Note: I read the original version of this story in 2017 before I was regularly writing reviews. It has since been edited and was re-released in August 2021 and this review is of the newer version. Also, the original version had a theme of Biphobic issues/comments/reactions by Chase – all of this has been removed from the 2021 version.

This is a good one when you’re in the mood for insta love, low angst, super sweet, perfect match romance. Chase and Gray meet under not so great circumstances, yet they both know there’s something there. Fate keeps putting them together and they realize that they are meant to be. These two are absolutely adorable together. Fun dates, sexy work trips, and family/found family bonds. While there’s a “big misunderstanding” close to the end, it’s resolved pretty quickly. An easy and cute read.

What a waste of potential! The premise is so good, clean Kent. Mr right/wright!! Seriously. It was so frustrating listening to this bland story and characterless characters!

I wanted to love this. I ended up listening to this in the background, coming in and out of focus because it was pretty boring. I would’ve loved to explore this series, I’ll read the reviews of the next books to decide if it’s worth continuing!

Are my standards too high? I just can't believe what passes as conflict in some books. The main conflict in this book was that the one character introduced the other character not as his boyfriend to an ex who the new boyfriend thought knew about him? Really? That's the whole conflict in this story? I mean yeah the working together was something to overcome too but this story seemed like it was going somewhere and then just... Didn't really. Not one I would recommend to my friends, although the sexy time was quite hot.

I enjoyed this story and the characters, especially Gram. I want her to adopt me. She was so hilarious. Greyson and Chase has the coolest families. In most of the m/m stories I've read, one set of relatives is never supportive of their gay son. It was nice to read a story where the main characters had an awesome support system. I can't wait to read the next story.

The book started off with a nice premise. I expected a lighthearted and cheesy read, but it was so lighthearted it was vapid. I found myself annoyed at the characters, who seemed like cardboard cutouts with cutesy personalities. Scene after scene, it seemed like fantasy and wish fulfillment of every scene you imagine in your head but should never publish in an actual book. I couldn't immerse myself in the story because I kept rolling my eyes at the author and imagining her giggling to herself as she thought up zingers. She even managed to mention tumblr, Queer as Folk, Debby Novotny and GBF (gay best friend?). Vixen grandma talks about her grandson's sex life and sexual preferences, is a gay romance author, talks about her titties and seeks writing consultations from her grandson. On sex. Meanwhile, the other main character secretly reads gay romance that the first character's grandma writes. You'd think it would be adorable, but it's not. A woman gropes the main character's crotch and talks about converting him with her tight pussy, and shows off her underwear to him while she's at work, gives him lap dances... Everyone calls her Nympho Nadia and thinks she's just a hoot and puts up with her constant *hilarious* sexual harassment.

Let's not even go into the main character's needless biphobia and nonsensical drama.

Main characters can't stop being turned on. All the time. At the slightest mention of the other person's name and in the most inappropriate settings.

If your looking for an m/m book with two sweethearts as the MCs then this book is for you. The book starts off with the two men meeting in a very awkward situation. It was hard for me to see these two men going anywhere after that point, but the author made it work.

Grayson is a workaholic who has not been having much fun in his life lately. He has been in a long term relationship that fizzled out years ago. In favor of working at his company he neglects his boyfriend and friends. This however is no excuse for what said boyfriend did to him.

Enter Chase. He tilts Graysons world on axis with his looks and kind personality. Chase has been down the broken heart road before so starts off reluctant to want to start a relationship with a man he doesn't think can ever look at him without bad memories.

Both men are close knit with their families and want one of their own someday. They finally come together after hurdling over some obstacles along the way. Grayson can't seem to stop putting his foot in his mouth, while chase does tend to be overtly sensitve.

I enjoyed the families of these characters. Chase's Gram was hilarious and Graysons mom was so sweet. Gray's brother was a great guy and spent the book only wanting his brother to be as happy as him in his life. He never shit on Chase even when him and Grayson were having troubles.

All in all a worthwhile quick read.

Confused

This book seems like a completely different author wrote it. I Love more recent books by the author (Royce and Sawyer for example), but I couldn't get into this one at all and had to stop at 66%. Life is too short to make myself read books I'm not enjoying, and I just found Gray and Chase way too unrealistic and cheesy. The dialogue especially was a little bit cringey and over-the-top. I'll probably try the next ones in the series as the new versions are released because I Do really enjoy this author and maybe they'll be updated in a better way.
