Not going to lie, when I was younger and read this book, I liked it, but now at twenty years old, I did not really enjoy it.
Let’s get started.
Beth has to be the WORST protagonist on Earth. Whilst her innocence can be entertaining, best case scenario, her absolutely child like obsession of how she acts with Xavier is ridiculous. It’s almost infantilisation on his part with how their chemistry is described. She has a bad dream or vision every five seconds and has to run and cuddle his chest for reassurance? It does not seem feasible, and does not make you love her character.
Second of all, the whole book felt like an advertisement for Christianity. I understand that it’s the plot foundation but it truly felt like pages and pages of conversion teasing, in my opinion.
Thirdly, the shallowness of the female characters bothered me. How come Molly has to be so stereotypical?
Not to mention, why would such high positioned angels be sent to a random-ass beach down and not a major city? It all reads as just uninteresting.
The only thing I found to be interesting that made Beth unique for her character and not like a whiny child was her lack of belly button due to be being born via an umbilical chord.
Bit of a yawn. Can skim.

Unfortunately this was not my cup of tea.
One star for angels actually being angels ( as in divine & in touch with god & religion etc)
So many YA authors want to write about angels..fallen or not...but don't really want to touch on the religious aspect so Kudos to this author for doing that.
The other star is for the fact that I believe the author was a teenager when she wrote this and it is definitely better written than a lot of adult books.
But the over all story was just too sugary & sweet for me. I never really warmed to Xavier or Bethany for that matter and didn't feel anything for them or their story.
I won't be continuing on with the series. I am sure it will appeal to others but it just wasn't to my taste...as much as I love YA perhaps I am just that bit too old for this one.

Honestly, I do not know why I gave it three stars. Read it in three days during my holiday, and I do not want to think that I could have read any book, but I took this with me because it was free (I understand why it was free now).
I love religion as a topic, and I enjoyed that fact about this book, but the author did not do it well.
It was 400 pages of nothing. This book would have been better as a short story. Alternatively, maybe one book when all three are boring like this.
The book is packed with school and voluntary work here and there, and then some end fight(?).
This book had something about it that I could not put my finger on. I will also read the second book.
Now, the characters.
Ivy is golden, I liked her, but she did nothing. Everyone that did not play a significant role was more interesting than the main characters. Maybe it was because the author did not ruin them. Gabriel was interesting, and I would like to read a story about a cold archangel sent to earth. But not from this author. Molly was weird. She was an awful friend and then suddenly understanding? Just confused. Xavier and Beth are simply uninteresting, I did not hate them, but I would have enjoyed any other character more.
This book made me want to read better books on the same topic. So that is a plus.

When I first finished this book I gave it 3 stars but the more I thought about I changed my mind and made it 2 stars.
I liked the idea and concept of the book. I just didn't like where it went.

Love reading about Angels. Loved how this story was from an angels perspective. Im reallylooking forward to book 2 Hades, can't wait to read more. :)
Halo is a great book. It shows the true meaning of love and its power. Good triumphs over evil and angels prevail.

While this book has a bit of a slow start, the plot takes off about half-way through and picks up pace amazingly. The characters are well developed, and likable giving the story a good feel. Well written and compelling, Alexandra Adornetto did a wonderful job with this book.

Going through Halo was an incredibly agonising experience. The pace was too slow, the characters were way too shallow and the plot was simply non-existent. Halo paints a disturbing picture of an unhealthy relationship and an ugly portrayal of today's teens. There is no redeeming quality in this book that I think worth mentioning.
