I was not enjoying it. She was an angel but really was just like a 17yo girl. She couldn't see past her own life and he own trails. I wasn't excited to keep coming back to know more, maybe if the first half of the book wasn't an establishing shot..?
I'm not going to lie, I was more interested in Gabriel and Molly!
Every time a question arose in this, it was never answered. Why did they let them stay together? Why is her power love? Is that why she feels? Wouldn't she just be able to fall from heaven to be with him forever? How does she not know much about her own race and their customs?
Etc etc.
I waited for ages to read this, I remember wanting to read it in high school, which was at least 3 years ago, and I'm sure I wanted to read it longer than that. Anyway, I finally found a free version of it that wasn't all corrupted or anything, and I was like, you know what I'll just read it. Not going to lie, I was absolutely bored shite-less most of the book. I don't like to not finish a book, and if I don't, I remove it from my GR page, and I'm not saying it's the WORST book ever, because it's not, but I nearly threw this bad boy away from my GR shelves and abandoned it completely. But I didn't, I stuck it out to the end, only for it to all happen in the last few chapters, and the lead up of them saving this town to be for nothing. In my eyes anyway. Like, this was why they were sent there? Cos of a demon with a magic bookie-wook? Damn. And like, they're meant to be keeping a low profile, but the strut their stuff around school, throw themselves right into the community, save lives and shit. That's like, the opposite of subtle. Really. Most 'humans' don't run into car accidents and save peoples lives and stuff. They sit back scared and let authorities do it. Geeze-Uz.
They didn't like to spend lots of money, but their house was a two story with direct access to the beach? Yeah okay.
Anyway, too many things contradicted others, things seemed weird, which I saw other people comment on in reviews, like cancelling a basketball game due to rain, which even here in OZ we play them inside.... Maybe this schools a little backwards, but I would think a private school with a swimming pool and shit would have a BBall court. School captains, rugby and not 'football' etc etc. maybe I'm picky, but that's some examples.
Bottom line was, I was bored. Bored enough to put it down and play my Playstation instead, which I don't do. So there. Super boredom isn't a good thing. Other than that, love story was good but more has to happen.

This is a wonderful book. It is a true love story through and through. I was expecting more of a fantasy based novel when I saw that it was about three angels here on earth. I wasn’t disappointed in the least bit. The storyline covers how our world looks to the innocent eyes of someone who has never been through life as a teenager. It shows people in their best forms and how good we can ultimately be.
The love story between the angel Bethany and the mortal boy is one that increases gradually, but the love that is felt is pure and unending. The type of love that will move heaven and earth in order to exist. There isn’t a large amount of action in the book, it is very relationship and story based, but it doesn’t feel lacking in any area. The ending is left open and I can’t wait to read the follow up to Halo in order to see what happens next.

Loveable characters:
Yes
I had expectations of this book and it wasn't that great. I had only spent about £1.50 on it second-hand so I wasn't that pissed off about it.
Adornetto is another one of those authors who paints characters as these perfect people with absolutely no flaws. That is one of the worst things that authors can do. If you're going to write a book make the characters fucking believable!

Bleh...waste of time...couldn't finish...should have read the reviews first...covers can be deceiving I would say...

BEFORE I READ
Eh. I'll give it a try.
WHEN I'M CURRENTLY READING
So far I'm not that impressed. There are major things that Bethany is doing that is off the angel radar. First of all, the one that is frustrating me the most, is that she goes to the party and is unaware that she is drinking alcohol and that's bad for her. Yet, at school, she's learning BASIC things. I don't care if she's an infant for an angel. If she's too smart for school, wouldn't she know right from wrong and that angels are not supposed to drink? Its getting me angry and I do not like it. Bethany was first rated ten stars out of ten because I am generous and give all characters a ten at the beginning of the book, but now she had dropped to a five because of her stupidity.
Another thing that's annoying me is Xavier. I like the character and how he's nice and everything, but Bethany is absolutely OBSESSED with him. Can she, one time, just look at him and not stop thinking about how hot she is and how she is so embarrassed to be next to his glory? She also does that to her siblings, but they have a reason because their angels. Xavier has to have a flaw. I'm tired of her ranting about how perfect he is. She has lost two stars for that.
One thing that I like, amazingly, is the authors writing and how she describes stuff. I like how she chooses the words and how it seems real. But maybe she can take a step back from describing the setting so much. Then maybe the story can get going. Because nothing is happening, and I'm a fourth of the way through the book.
So far, stars for characters:
Bethany: 3 stars
Xavier: 8 stars (he has to have a flaw to have 10)
Gabriel: 9 stars (he's not doing anything. But he did stop a fight)
Ivy: 10 stars (she was helping out at a church)
Molly: 6 stars (she's annoying)
AFTER READING
Well, I have to say that this book did not improve itself.
Bethany, no matter if she was a super smart angel (why am I even saying that?) seemed like a normal clueless teenager. I was very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very tempted to put down the book and never read it again. The only thing that helped me get through this book was me actually considering that Bethany was a normal clueless teenager. I didn't think of her as an angel at all, but like a regular Bella-human. Weak. Clueless.
If I had considered her as a angel, I would have thrown this book all the way to Australia, have it sent over to me, burned it, and then pay the library because it isn't my book. The story was not that bad, but the main characters were awful. The plot did not start until page 295 and then lasted until the end of book. The writing was good, but that was the only good thing. I have to say that my favorite character was Gabriel, because he would be the only person that represented an angel to me. Bethany, however, lied a lot, drank, nearly slept with Xavier, and acted completely helpless. NOT AN ANGEL. Her total stars end up like this:
Bethany: -5 stars.
Xavier was okay until he learned Bethany was an angel and that he had to look after her. Then he acted like she was fragile and that he had to help her every single need, so he got extremely annoying, including how he tried to stand up to demons and such. In total, his stars:
Xavier: 2 stars
Gabriel, as you have noticed, was my only favorite in this book because he actually acted like an angel than the rest of them. There could be some improvement to him, such as more action and less cooking and making girls faint behind him (cough cough Molly). And at the end he had a flaming sword and was gong to fight with it. That's really cool. But the dumb thing was that he wasn't able to hit Jacob because their powers were too evenly matched. So Bethany had to send out her LOVE to save him. Really? That's her only power? Gabriel got to read people's mind (which never took a large role and didn't seem to help anything) and Ivy got super healing, but Bethany has the power of love. Now Xavier is going to become invincible because Bethany loves him so so so much. Her love is the only thing that makes the earth go round.
Gabriel: 7 stars
Ivy. Where was she? She only seemed to be a filling. This book would do a lot better without her. Since we are unfortunately in Bethany's mind, we must be with her at all times. Ivy would be a lot more interesting. Any time she was mentioned, it was like Bethany saying: "Oh yeah. There's Ivy too. She does humanitarian stuff. Oh Xavier! How would I survive without you?" Ivy heals Bethany at the end, but still, Bethany is an angel. Its not like she can die. If she can, then she's not an angel because angels can't die.
Ivy: 2 stars
And finally we reach Molly. She is an unfortunate subject. Molly is in fact one of the people who encourage Bethany to lie and do multiple sins that angels can't do. Gabriel never notices though. Even though Molly and Bethany talk about sex in the room right next to him, I guess he can't read her mind. Otherwise he would have charged with his flaming sword and then killed her. Beth's love couldn't stop him. It only saves the day when Xavier is involved.
Molly's just annoying. She encourages the bad guy and helps Bethany get caught and is oblivious to everything around her. The only thing she is useful for is background. In total, she recieves:
Molly: 0 stars
If you were to count those up, it would give the book at least: 5 stars. That, if you divide out of 25, is one star. And that is what I think of this book. I didn't like it. Now that is said, I would like to say if I had written this book, it would have ended up like this:
Beth, Gabriel, Ivy come down to earth and see a boy. Happens to be Xavier. Bethany falls and lands on her face and is immediately sent home because she is an infant in Heaven and infants aren't supposed to have grand missions that don't do anything. Xavier eats some corn nuts and then Gabriel strums his guitar while Ivy watches MY GIRL and sobs hysterically.
Jake Thorn takes over the world.
The end.

This was amazing. I recommend it to anyone who loves romance
