πŸ—£πŸ’¬: "Preparation for a coming storm won't save anyone in a fire.
But I always want to be closer to the inferno of you; even if it kills me..."

πŸ‘©πŸΎβ€πŸ« 𝔾𝔼ℕℝ𝔼: LGBT / YA / Contemporary

✍️ ℙ𝕃𝕆𝕋:
Two girls. One wild and reckless day. Years of tumultuous history unspooling like a thin, fraying string in the hours after they set a fire.

They were best friends. Until they became more. Their affections grew. Until the blurry lines became dangerous.

Over the course of a single day, the depth of their past, the confusion of their present, and the unpredictability of their future is revealed. And the girls will learn that hearts, like flames, aren’t so easily tamed.

It starts with a fire.
How will it end?

πŸ’Ÿ π”½π”Όπ”Όπ•ƒπ•Š:
"You see truth as a window, while I imagine a collapsing brick wall"

I'm not sure if this was a hopelessly dark doomed romance or a dear diary auto fiction.
It was ok... I've forgotten it already tbh

I texted a friend while I was reading this book. I told them I don’t normally read verse novels. But I’m so glad I did. My text I sent as soon as I finished: β€œWow. I just finished. And now I’m still. Not too many things in this life get me to be still. And I’m sitting in the remnants of this book that feels like a hug. it feels familiar, and terrifying. And beautiful.

I will fully admit that poetry isn't really my thing, but I think this story was beautifully told. I do wish that the story had been more linear, especially given the poetry aspect, because I struggled to focus and follow it at times.
