This compilation is just fun to read. The tone is quirky and fun and the art is good. The villains are equal parts ridiculous and interesting. Sometimes I kind of felt like I was back in elementary school reading Archie comics, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. And then all of a sudden there would be a dude flying through the sky on magnets or another guy who looked like a lizard and talked like a man who was trying to convince all of the alligators to take over the world with him.

I mean seriously. How can you not like Spiderman comics?

Finished and forgot to mark it complete. Super fun to see where such an iconic character began.

Originally selected this one with the idea of browsing quickly through it to view the original artwork of Steve Ditko and instead wound up reading it from cover to cover. Enjoyed it so much that I've picked up the next volume. Gotta see how the Betty Brant story concludes!

I hate that I read the first 9 comics of this 6 months ago, and that I did not write updates when I updated. I now don't know what I'd rate this, so I'll just go with the final two I just read.

3,5-4 stars!

There was a terrible panel of Betty saying her life is nothing without Peter in it, and I know this was written in the 60s but honestly.. that was just gross.

The drawing and writing is hilariously awful at times, but it's still so entertaining overall!

Back to where it all started. Jack Kirby and Stan Lee working on the first issues of Spiderman. Did it age well? in some areas yes, and in other areas no. Still, this book is legendary and should be read or at the very least glimpsed through.
