'twas a bit of a slow start, but we love watching an awkward middle aged man go through character building trauma and make friends along the way

Enjoyed this one. The premise is really sad but interesting. Excited for the next one now that Tom has a ship!

Top notch worldbuilding, interesting characters, but there sure are a lot of damsels in distress. I think the author fixes this by the end, though, and the protag is a bit of a damsel in distress himself to be sure

Yay! A new favorite book! What a great feeling. This is one of the best adventures I’ve ever been taken on by a novel. The world building is beautifully done and the world created amazingly unique. The character development of our protagonist was brilliantly done and felt real-with growth happening with many setbacks, rather than in a straight upwards line. What a fabulous read-believe the hype!

I am definitely in the minority, but I did not enjoy this book. I kept wondering what I was missing and in the end, I think that this style is just not for me. I almost gave another star for originality, but really, I didn't care for this one.

Sometimes predictable, but always interesting steampunk fantasy. Thomas Senlin is a bumbling, clever, and endearing protagonist. The rest of the cast are just as entertaining. Fun read!
