This was just so, so dumb, and I read spoilers and discovered it becomes exponentially more dumb as it goes on, so I'm out. It's a cool idea to make a scientist the protagonist of a murder book, but frankly the character lost me and my sympathy when he stole the blood sample.

Space toaster narrator, flowing internal monologue, SUPER messed up plot, and an ending that's so ludicrous I burst out laughing multiple times. At, like, really high-tension points. Whoops.

Kromě toho, že mi chyběl epilog, tak to bylo velmi dobré. Mám ráda když hlavní hrdina je takový "divnočlověk", který uvažuje a funguje jinak než ostatní a většina lidí ho nechápe. Jen chudák Theo dostal tolik nakládaček, že si nejsem jistá, jestli by po té druhé ještě vstal z pelechu. Každopádně pokračuji dalším dílem.
Exceptional crime/thriller.
As a scientist myself, I understand Dr Theo Cray all too well. This is a superb realization of a character that could live as long as Lucas Davenport. Theo iss part scientist and part philosopher. Facts are his joy. Non-factual gobbledygook should step aside. Its refreshing and I wish more prevalent. Strongly advised.

Mocne 4.5/5 ⭐️. Po nieco wolnym starcie, dosłownie pochłonęłam tę książkę, gdy akcja zaczęła się rozkręcać. Naturalista do samego końca trzymał mnie w napięciu, chociaż na początku myślałam, że pewnie będzie to dosyć przewidywalna historia. Poza tym, książka ma w sobie sporo naukowych ciekawostek, a logiczne myślenie głównego bohatera sprawiło, że byłam naprawdę pod wrażeniem. Małym minusem był tylko wolny początek. Poza tym, do połowy książki czułam, że w żaden sposób nie wiążę się z bohaterami, przez co nie byłam aż tak ciekawa rozwinięcia się akcji. Momentami irytowało mnie też to, że wszyscy oprócz profesora Theo i kilku innych osób sprawiali wrażenie, jakby mieli klapki na oczach. Mimo wszystko świetna książka, nie spodziewałam się czegoś tak dobrego!
