An interesting look into the lives of village Muslims and their society, told by fable-esq stories. The story was fairly well written for a translation, and I enjoyed learning about the community in a narrative form.

the introduction says that this has a lot to do with sufi teachings. there is a lot of warmth that comes through this, and it’s melodramatic, but i liked it quite a bit

جميييييييلة!! (بالذات بعد صدمتي في نهاية موسم الهجرة إلى الشمال *_*) احببت الزين مع انه مستفز نوعاً ما لكنه طاهر القلب! و احببت حب بنت عمه الساكن له و اختيارها غير المبرر بالنسبة للقرية له.. موقف القرية من زواجه واقعي جداً :( فعلاً الناس أحياناً تبخل بما ليس في يدها و لا يعنيها في شيء.. البنت القروية المقهورة و المغلوب على أمرها مستهلكة و تستفزني >:( لهذا نعمة كانت رائعة في قوة شخصيتها التي فرضتها على الجميع بدون دراما!

I enjoyed the style, it was interesting and symbollical for me but that was too short for me to get more into the story. I will definitely read “Season of Migration to the North” soon.
