A beautiful disaster

5 STARS!!!!

That. Was. Amazing.

Wow, I'm speechless. This book made me felt a lot of things. Most of the time I didn't even know what I was feeling or what was going on. But it was so intense. I loved every page.

The writting was brilliant. Everything from the description of the scenes, the feelings, the emotions, the sex... it was extremely well written and I learnt a lot by reading this story.

The characters were well developed, deep personalities, real problems, mixed feelings about them at some points... I didn't know if I loved them or hated them. Well yeah, I loved them, I absolutely loved them, even Park was nice to know. Of course, I hated Hiyam and a few more but overall it's good when you can feel the characters in a book.

I loved the film making references, the film world metaphors, I'm a fan of this subject so I felt like I was living that class with them. It felt like I was actually watching a movie, picturing every scene and transition and movie element during the story.

I'm a sucker for student/teacher relationships. You always know what could happen if they get caught, or how much trouble they could get into, not socially but also emotionally. But what makes this story different from others, it's the way it's written and the way things happen for Evan and Maise. It feels pretty realistic and intense, and not everything is perfect or happens coincidentally or just because.

The quotes I got from this book are a lot and fantastic. And I can't chose a favorite line or scene, because I adored it from start to end. I found myself making lame excuses to stop reading because I didn't want to finish, and that happens to me when I'm really enjoying a book and I'm amazed by it.

I loved/hated Maise. I disliked her at first because of her cockiness and lack of care, but I also admired her because of it, and how brave and strong she is. Also she is very independent, and mature and inmature at the same time. The good part about it is that she realizes about everything with time, step by step.

Wesley was one of my favorite characters. He was so smart and kind and cute. At some point I didn't know if I hated him a bit but then I could understand why he acted the way he did.
SpoilerI kept hoping Maise would try something with him but at the end I'm glad nothing happened, it would have been unrealistic and cliché and I'm happy that Maise stayed true to her feelings for Evan

Evan. Oh, Evan. Mr. Wilke. That was one hot teacher. I really loved everything about him. His secrets, his actions, his sexyness. He could be wild and desperate one second and then all kind and sweet, but always passionate. His relationship with Maise was kind of weird sometimes, it made me think a lot and try to understand things from different perspectives.

The sex scenes were incredible. Amazing. Intense, deep, heartbreaking, heartwarming, hot (really hot), keeping the realism and always showing emotion. They were beautifully described and I loved every second.

So this is a favorite for me. Congrats to the author for this masterpiece that I highly recommend. It was so worth it.

This was an amazing book! I love student/teacher romances! This is one of the great ones that I will come to and re-read. The characters were awesome and well-developed. Maise was a sweet, smart, film eighteen year olds student, who would not live in her town. Evan is definitely boyfriend material, he is sweet, adorable, and just HOT!

The secondary character were amazing as well. The ending was perfect. Glad they got their HEA! I didn't really like Wesley, I thought he was a creep and a stalker. Also, I did not like Hiyam. I mean if the guy you like doesn't like you, take a hint. Overall, a fantastic read.

Amazing writing, great story, steamy and passionate. I highly recommend it .

I'm really unsure about this book. I can tell it was a good book, a decent plot and well written, I'm just not sure it is for me.

Maise wants to be in film school and as such some of this is almost written as if the scene is being directed. Whilst being apt and unique and totally appropriate for the story, I'm just not sure it was for me.

I felt like alot of the time i spent waiting for something that was constantly being hinted at to happen, about 75% - 80% through it really started ramping up and i was getting in to it, but then just as quickly that bit was over with and i was left feeling a little disappointed.

So whilst a good book, and i can see why lots of other people love it, this one was not for me.

"Unteachable" by author:Leah Raeder|7105371] is one of those books that falls under the category of teacher-student love affairs but Raeder has created an original story so it doesn't merely become a copycat. This book is definitely one of the better ones in its class, backed by a strong lead character in the person of Maise O'Malley and wonderfully intense writing. ^.^

Maise seems mature for her age, which is 18, so it doesn't really come as much of a surprise when Evan meets her at the town carnival and the two find themselves at the beginning of sizzling chemistry. The two have sex in Evan's car and Maise, overcome by the intensity of what just happened, runs off. Cut to a few days later when high school senior Maise enters her Film class and comes face-to-face with Evan, only he isn't just Evan; today, he is Mr. Wilke, her 32-year-old Film teacher. Hey, every love story's supposed to have one obstacle or another, right? ^.^

The lead character has, indeed, gone through quite a troubled childhood and has been forced to mature and become more independent and guarded because of it. Still, she IS only 18 and that shows when it comes to the risks she takes in order to continue her relationship with Evan. All of that combined makes her a believable character and one that you can't help but empathize with. We've all had a crush on a teacher in high school or college so being attracted to someone older and in authority isn't a foreign concept. ^.^

"Unteachable" gets four out of five stars and my hesitation in giving it a higher rating is my lack of any emotion towards Evan Wilke (a.k.a. Eric Evan Wilke). Yes, he's repeatedly described as gorgeous but I didn't feel anything for the guy. Maybe it was because his relationship with Maise wasn't new territory for him or maybe it was because he seemed less mature and level-headed than Maise... I can't really put my finger on it but the guy definitely isn't on my "best book boyfriends" list.

However, don't let my lack of affection for Evan stop you from reading the book. It IS good and will definitely be worth the time you put into it. ^.^ And while this is supposedly NOT Leah Raeder's first book, this is the one that has put her on the map and I shall definitely be putting her on my "authors to watch" list. ^.^[

This seems to fall somewhere between young adult and new adult. I don't think it was as salacious as some I've read, but its definitely not suitable for say a 14 year old.

I was a little disappointed. I was really hoping for a bit more drama.
