This book was so irrefutably breath-taking I stayed up till past five in the morning to finish it. Not once have I ever done that.
This book is a trip.
I remember having read some of it a few years back, but never having finished it (no idea why, I liked the story). It randomly popped up in my head recently and I thought I’d read it & (finally) finish it. I didn’t appreciate it enough then, but the writing is absolutely incredible. Honestly, it elevated the experience to the nth degree.
Also, Maise is one hell of a character.
Anyway, some things just didn’t mesh well with the story and the characters imo, which is why I removed a star.

It's amanzingly well written, but I can't agree with that relationship.
This was a good surprise. A student-teacher romance that has a little meat to it, as well as being miles better written than most books in this genre. A little darker and grittier than my taste, but I’ll take that any day over some of the cheesy rubbish I’ve read lately in the genre.
I was very excited to start this book but sadly it felt short for me. I wish the author would have taken more time to build up the relationship with the two characters. I didn't feel any connection or emotion for the characters until the ending. The story seemed to be rushed in some parts and then dragging in others. The student/teacher wasn't a turn off and was looking forward to how it was going to play out in the end. Overall the book held my interest but didn't grab me. I would give this author another shot on her future books.

I think I liked this more than most in my book club. Don't care. It was a perfect Hawaii beach read and the writing was better than I expected.

I liked this book a lot and loved the story and the writing is fantastic...Hoping for a second book to continue Evan and Maise's story.
