The writng was actually quite decent and full of personality, but toward the end, the plot really fell apart and felt really disjointed. I didn't understand the character's motivation for actions and I thought it deserved a more realistic/self-empowered ending.

4.5*

WOW! I wasn't expecting to love this so much. It's so easy sometimes to judge a book on the genre. I mean self published New Adult isn't always the best when it comes to defining good literature.

I love NA because it's ridiculous and addictive trash.. mostly, but sometimes you stumble across some heartfelt and beautifully written work. This is what happened with Unteachable. It had some of the typical NA stuff but overall it was it's own thing and it felt genuine and not some recycled crap!

This was a lot of fun! It was addictive, sexy, and most importantly it had some real good writing. Give me some good writing I'm already 70% sold.

3.5 stars -- having a hard time deciding to round up or down. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about that book. It was a bit out of my wheelhouse (as my husband would say). It was like an artsy movie. I can't watch many of them...it doesn't mean I won't like it, but it's not exactly who I am. The writing in this book was very...not flowery....fancy. Shit, I don't know how to describe it. Just so many metaphors, and descriptions that made me feel dull and lame b/c I just like normal straightforward stuff. I mean, I didn't even get through the first chapter before I set this book aside the first time I tried to read it. It did eventually get better for me, and I began to appreciate the crazy comparisons and beautiful flowy descriptions. But it's not the kind of writing that I can read a lot, b/c it's just not the kind of person I am.

So, that was a whole paragraph about nothing. I guess this book had me all waffly. It ended with a total high...I LOVED the ending. It made everything else that had gone on just sort of fit and feel epically beautiful and crazy and like it meant something. But up until that last chapter, I wasn't sure. So to give a higher star rating would have ignored how I felt the rest of the time. Which was conflicted. Maybe the characters were too real, and the situation too uncomfortable... I guess it was more raw than I was expecting too. It was very in your face about what it was...could even be categorized erotica in some senses b/c it was quite graphic in that sense. In the end, Maise just wasn't a character that I could relate to. Which I guess I don't always need to, but I prefer to have something there, you know? And in the end the discomfort of the relationship kept me from loving the good moments of it. So yeah. And that's all I have to say about that....

No wait, I want to give a shout out to the side characters. They may not have had huge roles, but I appreciated them (from Wesley and Siohban (which I never know how to spell/pronounce) to even Park).

My feelings are torn regarding this book. In one sense, it was incredibly entertaining and a fun read. In another sense, their relationship was so centered around sex that I wonder how long the relationship actually would last in real life. Wesley and Siohan were super great and I loved how Maise took control of her life near the end.

A nezajímaly mě ani hrdinčiny problémy doma - matka feťačka, co drogy prodává (a asi i sebe). Moc jsem nepochopila, proč tam tohle bylo.
Mě to prostě nenadchlo. A to jsem se na to fakt těšila.

What a mess

Buuuut it did end the way I wanted it to. Was it a good ending? No but it was the one I wanted.. sort of

I wish there was an option to give books more than five stars...:''').
I'm having some trouble to get my thoughts together and write a good review but i have nothing to say about this book except for the fact that it's just simply and breathtakingly B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. Throughout the whole book it had this very nostalgic air about it that drew me in so deep that I guess can't,ever,be able to forget it.I didn't, AT ALL,expect it to move me this much, hell i didn't even think it was good until the moment when i was just a few pages in ya'll.The blurb, even though, looked like yet another trashy and typical new adult book with a high school girl with daddy-issues and shit.I mean that's what i thought lol before going into it but gave it a shot nevertheless because I had to get rid of my book slump using it as a quickie but oh well,it surely surprised the hell out of me.Also, this book was another million proof for making me realize how much of a COMPLETE sucker I am for lyrically prosed writing. This book was too real, too good, too melancholically beautiful.

very different from anything i’ve ever read. anywhere from 4-4.5. hm.
