There is something about Quesada's art that I just can't get past. It probably has something to do with One More Day.

I have always loved Matt as a character and since rewatching the show i decided to go back to some old comics with him. I really enjoy the way comics nod back at others and events i loved. All the references to natasha and peter were great since i have read every Spider-man comic to date and love him with my whole heart and natasha makes a great addition to every comic she is in. But no this was not perfect of course but it was fun and made me remember how much fun daredevil comics were. Well in a horrible dark way that is!

Still dealing with the death of Elektra and Karen abandoning him for work opportunities, Matt Murdock suddenly finds himself troubled over a teen mom who appears in his office with a baby which she claims is burdened with glorious purpose. And then some guys who had been previously attempting to run them over show up alleging the newborn is the Antichrist, and demand Murdock hand the kid over. After only ever watching Daredevil on Netflix and having this as my first foray into the Murdock comic-verse, going the Kevin Smith route seems to have been a good decision. Compelling story, meh on the illustration.
And I -really- dislike Foggy now, more than before. Ugh.

Not really that interesting. Reading the series requires that you know the Marvel universe fairly well (which I don't) for there were "big reveals" at the end of single editions of just an image of some person that was supposed to be exciting to which I went "huh? who?".

The characters were kind of annoying as they were constantly going insane (eventually understood due to evil drugs being used) but I just watched the characters going, "well, that seems stupid and I don't care". Fell into the comic book tropes of having the women characters be over sexualized.

There's no criticism of the plot that this book doesn't throw up itself in its final two issues - derivative, self-aggrandising, speaks to a damaged view of women, check check check. To this we may simply add, "That bit where you lobbed a baby off the roof was wild man!"

I no longer enjoy Joe Quesada's figure-work, which has the feel of melted plastic to it, but I'd forgotten how much I liked look at this sort of gaudy-gothic comic book city.

Please keep Kevin Smith away from Daredevil. It was horrible. The way women were treated made me cringe, and the plot was boring and over-the-top. It didn't add anything to Daredevil's overall arc. Do not recommend.

This was my first exposure to reading Daredevil and it was not my favorite. The religious aspect felt very heavy handed and the fact that yet another of his girlfriends was fridged by Bullseye did not endear me to the story. It did however keep me interested enough that I kept reading more Daredevil.
