Again, I have forgotten so many of the details since reading it years ago! I absolutely love that Ron explains the magic slur and Hermione is clueless. I know it's switched in the movies, but that moment, and several others through the book, just reminded me that Ron is actually very smart and is the only one in the immediate friend group with a wizarding background. Harry and Hermione have so much that they don't know and I like that Ron isn't protracted as just the comedic-relief sidekick.

4 e ½ stars
I do remember why I loved it the first time. The fighting scene is great, Tom Riddle is one of my faves. I only regret that we didn't see much of Hermione but the fact that we know she already understood almost everything is so in character! And then, there's Dobby <3

I LOVE this writing! Harry's new adventures become even more mysterious so when the secrets and mysteries are revealed, I am always amazed!
There wasn't a single moment or plot that went untouched. Even on the last page, I was wondering about something that was hinted at the beginning, anxious it would not be addressed but it was!!!
It simply shows that the author spent years creating everything about the whole series.
OMG I love this series so much and I can't wait to read the next books.

Dobby <3 That's the review. I jest, I do also have a lot of love for Chamber of Secrets. Again excellent vibes. The writing still isn't *amazing* but this is marketed for kids so I wouldn't expect something more than it is. I still love the twist at the end. I will admit I do sleep on this book more than I should as it is a good story!

I love the fact that although I have seen all the Harry Potter films at least 10 times, reading the books don't bore me.
I really enjoy the small details - which the filmmakers for obvious reasons couldn't implement in the movies -, they make the story more colorful and detailed, and give the characters more spice. And also makes me feel like I can get a backstage glimpse.
I simply adore the world building, how things are introduced at the level of mentioning, and then a little bit later brought back as something important.
I get why this was big back then, and I also totally understand why the hype around Harry Potter never went away and is always somehow rekindled.
What I really like to point out, for me the biggest surprise so far is Ron's character. I find him more likeable in the books. He is much cooler and intelligent.
And I like that Fred and George are playing a bigger role in the books. They bring humour into the story.
