Wow. The style was really interesting, thought it'd hate it, ultimately loved it. Shocked by how distinct each voice felt. There were times where it felt a bit cliche but overall, the writing was so fresh that it didn't quite matter.

3.5 stars, I've had trouble with the numerous characters. Otherwise, I liked the stories that intertwine with each other. Some are better than others, though. Overall, the book is, at times, very emotional, fierce, and boldly written, which I enjoyed a lot.

This was Junes book club readalong, there was times I wasn’t sure I would finish this read but I powered through and it was actually very poetic and beautiful.

Girl, Woman, Other follows a collection of women whose stories intertwine. With themes of race, feminism, gender, identification, rape and so much more. It is thought-provoking, captivating and although it was slower paced I felt I really connected with each character. There was utterly heartbreaking moments where I had to take a break because I was simply speechless but there was also very beautiful moments and I was truely proud of these powerful women in this book.

Other readers might say the lack of punctuation is an issues but it wasn’t a problem for me and after the first 20 pages you get used it this style of writing and I found it quite moving.

As much as I enjoyed this read, it did take me a while to read and I would recommend reading Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo.
