“I love you Layla. Do you hear me? I've loved you since the first moment I heard your voice and I will continue to love you. No matter what. I love you.”

I don't know about this second one.
I didn't like it comparing it with the first one.
I did expect more.
Just like the first one, I always feel like the story is beating around the bush when trying to expose things we need to know.
Well, Layla did have some badass scene of her fighting. I still was not satisfied.
I feel like this focus on the love triangle on Layla too much then the problem of the situation.
Roth did have things we do not know of him huh, I still need to find out.
Zayne just annoyes me sometimes.
I wish the book spoke more about Layla being half warden and half demon.
Like exploring more of it and see which one she likes.
However I like the plotline, it make sense of how things are happening.
But sometimes I feel like we find out everything really towards the end.
I wish it was more consistent in between the storyline.
Hence Im torn in between giving it a 3.5 or 4.

“Love is a strange creature one thinks one has a grasp on and understanding of, only to discover later that it was only the barest taste of the real thing.”

That ending though!! After reading other reviews before starting this i really thought I’d switch to team Zayne, but nope still team Roth! I just love me a demon apparently lol

Oh, Roth.... <3

Oh my God! what!! no. why? I need the next one!!

OMG, this book was just all sorts of tease in a good way! I loved and hated that by the end of this book I didn't have a clear opinion on who she should choose, Zayne or Roth and, man what a good job because i hate love triangles! I just want to live in JLA's mind and see how she comes up with this! It has the right amount of "surprise" and a healthy dose of teen ridden angst up make-out-ish scenes and the right amount of male testosterone thrown around. I cant even summarize this book without giving too much away, but know this, it has a sight cliffhanger but not like the OMG WHAT THE HELL, more like ugh, now Im guessing....I love JLA and Can't wait for the last one

Holy Sh*t

Overall, this book receives five stars, and I’m diving into the next book right away. I needed this series to help me out of a reading funk, and it got me out of it and more.

Standalone or Part of Series: It’s part of the Dark Elements series.

Cliffhanger: Yes.

Trope: Love Triangle

Would I recommend this book? OMG! Yes! If you are a fan of Young Adult Paranormal/Fantasy, then I recommend this series. If you are a fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout and haven’t read this series, then why haven’t you?

P.S. And another thing, can I say that I love that Roth names his familiar’s after Bambi characters? Bambi has always been one of my favorite Disney movies, even if it makes me cry each time I watch it.
