There were a few lovely surprises in this one. The first story, about the Christmas pudding, was very festive and we find out Poirot is not so immune to womanly charms!

This short story collection was not originally released in the United States, so I had a terrible time finding a copy lo these several decades ago when I was trying to fill in my collection. All of the stories are published in other collections, so there is nothing new here. The description on Goodreads claims that this is a Poirot/Marple collection, but they are all Poirot until the very last story. They are good stories, but quite familiar by now.

Entertaining, but not as clever as I expect from Agatha Christie. And saying that rather reminds me of that Doctor Who episode...

This is a cute little Hercule Poirot story that will make you smile. I know he's a detective and we come here to see him solve murders, but I wish we had more stories of him just relaxing and enjoying himself.

Lighthearted adventures into the every day life of Hercule Poirot is now one of my favorite things.

I listened to the dramatised version of the Christmas Pudding story, and it was frankly speaking, awful.

I honestly suspect it of being ghostwritten, or possibly while Christie was ill.

3.5

A highly enjoyable collection of short mysteries and a great introduction to Miss Marple.
