The Drowning Woman gripped me more than I expected it to! I liked the pacing of it - the slow burn at the beginning gets you invested in Lee's character before all the twists start. My heart definitely ached for Lee. She is a victim of bad circumstances, and I felt like she was definitely paying hard for her mistakes. I found it harder to connect with Hazel, I felt like her motivations didn't quite explain her staying stagnant but nevertheless, her story is a hard one and while I can sympathize, I am definitely less forgiving of her choices, especially where Lee is concerned. This book is very much about woman power and second chances, and I enjoyed the story and twists overall. This makes for a great beach read.

Great thriller! Loved the dual perspectives. The pacing was good and the plot was unique and complex. I couldn't put it down.

Good twists, didn't see that last bit. Kept me on my toes and I didn't want it to end.
The language around drug users in this book is disgusting. Do better.

This was a compelling story with an intriguing twist. Fans of “The Housemaid” will enjoy the structure of this book. I couldn’t help feel as if the book reached its peak for me with around 100 pages left. Leaving me with a desire for a more balanced pace. Otherwise the characters were strong and engaging!
This started to be too predictable; I'm not saying a homeless person can't have an intimate relationship with someone but isn't this supposed to be a thriller? It was obvious what Hazel was doing. I would not expect Lee to be so trusting, didn't the "spa" day teach you nothing? And the bondage /dominance stuff ain't for me. No thanks
