X-Men meets Dungeons and Dragons in this delightful tale! In a world where people have the ability to be born with fantastic powers and be creatures of legend, in the kingdom of Blognig anyone who is an “Unhuman” as they’re called is banished from the kingdom. To the king’s horror, his daughter Mio is born a mermaid. Mio is Ariel meets Princess Jasmine. She is forever confined to the castle and has to hide her mermaid self using harmful medications! She is betrothed to Prince Chika even though the two have never met. Mio fantasizes about marrying the prince so she can see the world outside of her castle. It isn’t until a tutor comes to the castle, Yuri, in order to teach Mio of the customs of Prince Chika’s kingdom that she starts to realize being a mermaid is actually her destiny! This is a great and fun easy read and the perfect pallet cleanser after some heavier stories.

This was so good! A cute shojo reminiscent of Mermaid Melody. Emotional as well, I was tearing up in some parts. It includes a side story featuring another character within the world that was also cute. I can't wait to continue the series.
