Unique story
I loved the concept of this story. I loved the first couple chapters. I just couldn't connect with the mcs chemistry together... it seemed forced. Also, after that first few chapters the kid was an afterthought and that was really a missed opportunity of great scenes.

I really enjoyed the first few chapters, when it was just Vic & Vivi together. They were fun and Vivi was so cute, and Vic was so cute with her.
But then...Daisy happened. She spent the first half of this book being a selfish, jealous, spiteful, judgmental shrew! She seemed to have no valid reason to hate Vic so much. She was the one who blew him off years ago. She was the one who kept his daughter a secret for seven years, and thereby forcing herself to raise a child alone. I hated reading her chapters, being in her head.
And then suddenly, from one chapter to the next, she changed her mind about her feelings for Vic. Suddenly, she liked him, she always liked him, and she wants to be a family. In a week, they're both in love and ready to build a future together.
I don't know, this whole thing just felt...all over the place. Things at the end happened suddenly and moved quickly, but it was in a way that wasn't really clear what was going on, and just as suddenly, it ALL came together in one huge showdown, that, again, was in a way that wasn't really clear what was going on.
I did enjoy a lot of it, but it was...weird. And sometimes aggravating. I didn't really like the heroine, who seemed more like a teenage girl than a grown woman. But Vic and Vivi (and of course, the entire Rook & Ronin gang) made it worthy of the 3 stars I ended up giving it.

This is really cute and funny. The "kidnapping" princess scene really stood out to me. I loved this one and it was a nice refresher in my reading streak.

SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)
Vic is a laid back kind of guy. So when one of his nieces comes into his tattoo shop he assumes he's supposed to be babysitting. But with five nieces who all look nearly identical, he's having a hard time remembering which one she is. Turns out, she's not his niece! She's his daughter who he was never told existed.
So now Vic and Daisy -- a girl he once had a very memorable one night stand with -- are getting to know each other as he gets to know his daughter.
Maybe, just maybe they can find their way to their HEA -- if they can get through all the insane legal hurdles being thrown their way due to one of Vic's crazy jealous exes.

REVIEW:
This was a really fun read!
I'm not typically one to enjoy romances with surprise babies (or young kids). But the way this was done was so utterly entertaining. The first 17% of the book Vic is "babysitting" a girl who he thinks is his niece. I can't describe to you how hilarious it was when he realized it wasn't his niece and that he'd accidentally kidnapped her and given her the funnest day of her life. lol The whole setup was hilariously genius. I loved it.
Vic I loved as a character. He's laid back and really interesting. But he's also the kind of guy that "gets things done" (Daisy's words, but it's so true). He might appear like a reckless tatted up biker. But he works so hard to make his dreams a reality. I love that about him. And I love how he just sort of rolls with the punches and goes with things as they come. He has a great personality.
Daisy was harder to love at first. I totally understand her concern about losing Vivi and her defensiveness not feeling like a good mom. But it made her look kind of bitchy and unreasonable. I also didn't at all understand why she deleted her number from Vic's phone all those years ago. She "explains" it but it made no sense to me.
But once Vic started working his way under her shell, I started to really like her. And at that point I was really rooting for them.
Despite being a lighter book, it had a pretty entertaining plot with twists and turns, and a cast of colorful characters (who, it turns out, have their own series of books I will have to check out). And the bit of steam we got was surprisingly hot to boot.
Overall it was a great book! I really enjoyed it. A fun and entertaining romantic read. I'll definitely be checking out more by this author.

This story! It is so much fun!! I loved seeing prior characters from JA Huss books. I loved the humor and banter. I loved the swooniness and the STEAM! I love any type of book JA Huss writes. She can write any trope and I love it. This was definitely no exception. I did not want to put this down and I can't wait to read more from this author. I never know what to expect.

Another hit from this author. I loved getting cameos of some of my past favorite characters, so much so, that it ma!we me want to do a reread of this series. I loved Vicious and Daisy. I loved the humor, and especially the humor about the mix up with Vivian.
This book had a more lighthearted feel to the story than I am used to from this author but I loved it. There is a reason that she is one of my favorite authors.
