Ok, so it's hard not to judge it by today's standards. This was about cursed objects, not traps though. I know in "the good old days" a percentile dice roll of 01-02 was a normal treasure item and 03-00 was a cursed item but... I really just can't understand why that's fun.

It did explain that Players enjoy and feel a sense of accomplishment when they solve some sort of puzzle or defeat a monster or trap and that DMs feel that same sort of accomplishment when they KILL OFF the players.

As far as the actual material, I didn't think most of them were really that interesting. They were designed to kill and maim the players (often just by touching the object.) If I take it like one big joke book, it's still only "ok", but there's a large section with tips, tricks & suggestions for DMs on how to kill off players that are "too powerful" and some ways to get the players to turn on each other and it seemed like the writer was actually very serious regarding this.
