Gray After Dark

Noelle W. Ihli

4.08 AVERAGE

medium-paced

Noelle is fast becoming one of my go to thriller authors. Her books are just so suspenseful, anxiety inducing, and fast paced! Gray after dark was no different!

We follow Miley after she is kidnapped by a psychotic son and father duo looking to make her one of their “wives”. We also follow Brent as he is trekking through the woods determined to find Miley.

I really enjoyed this one! Super fast paced, readable, heavily triggering because of the subject matter obvi, and just keeps you wanting to read to find out what happens next! Loved Miley as a main character also, which is sometimes hard to find likable MC’s in thrillers.

Also, really enjoyed the authors note at the end. Bringing attention to the case that inspired this story was a really beautiful thing to do.

What an interesting and fascinating book. And the fact it’s loosely based off a true story is even more…shocking!

As being a former athlete I love the Olympic touch and athlete’s touch to this book. It added something original and unique to this novel…well most of it was unique and original!

It started a bit slow for me but it picked up and I just had to finish it. I’d read something else from this author!

This may be my favorite book of the year!

However….. I don’t ever wanna hear the word TAME again!!!!!!

An exciting and suspenseful read full of danger, surprise, and questionable characters.  I enjoyed the plot from start to end, the character arcs we delved into in the middle of the story were well fleshed out. The scenery was perfect for the off-grid character aspect and the wilderness, and it's inhabitants, perfectly creepy.  This is my first read from this author and I am looking forward to more.
