I liked getting into Sebastian's head more and understanding his family issues. Learning about what type of man his father is made me wonder who we can thank for Sebastian turning out so wonderful.

I was so proud of Ali for finally stranding her ground with her family too. She deserved so much more than the hand she was dealt. And the lengths she went to try to fix things, her family definitely needed to appreciate her more.

Ali and Sebastian had me hooked from the opening pages. This book had me laughing, crying and yelling at my kindle. As a reader you could not help but fall in love with the romance between Ali and Sebastian. This book had it all, great characters, a plot that kept you on the edge of your seat as well as enough angst and intrigue to keep the reader flipping the pages. Overall this is a book I highly recommend and cannot wait for more in the series.

Why did I read Honor Bound when I didn't like Duty Bound very much? Well I thought I would give these authors another chance. Maybe with different characters I would enjoy the story more. Luckily this worked out for me as I enjoyed this story much more than the first one.

Ali's life was ruined by the Maxwell's. She has had to give up her college dreams and everything really to take care of her family. She works a ton and just tries to get by. When she gets an opportunity to help plan a party at the home of someone who might have proof of what the Maxwell corporation did to her family, she jumps at the chance to try and write the wrong that was done to her family. She is a bit ridiculous in her snooping around the house, but she was cute. I mean really she is not very smart with the whole thing, but it was alright the way it was written.

Sebastian really does not like his family. His dad wants him to work for the family company, but he wants nothing to do with that. He wants to work with his security company he and his military friends just started, but his dad has other ideas. When Sebastian first sees Ali he is intrigued. He keeps finding her all over the house, places she shouldn't be, but he doesn't really see much harm in that. They get closer and Ali is drawn to Sebastian even if he is a Maxwell. He doesn't seem like his family and Ali just can't help herself.

There are some bumps in the road, some issues that need to be dealt with, some assumptions Ali needs to work out, but Sebastian and Ali are so cute together. Ali does go crazy a few times for no reason, but it all works out in the end. They really are great together and Sebastian is such a great guy. He is just a really good person and perfect for Ali. I really loved them. I am so glad this book was so much better than the first one. I really enjoyed it.

Protecting the Enemy was another great re-read. I really enjoyed Honor Bound, the original book, and the edits and revisions and additions weren't as apparent to me in this one, but maybe because I enjoyed the original as well (the first book in the series has gotten an update as well and I enjoyed it much more once it had). It was another fun read from these two authors.

Ali is not where she always thought she would be. She has had to get a job and help provide for her family after the Maxwell's took everything away from her. First Sebastian hurt her when he left her so long ago, and then everything else that happened since then. She had plans to go to college and do something a bit different with her life, but she can't. Her family needs her. If only she can find something on those who hurt her family maybe she can make it right.

Sebastian is not really like the rest of the Maxwell's. He got out, joined the military and served his country. Now he is home and his dad expects him to fall in line and take his rightful place in the family company, only that isn't what he wants. Instead he started a security company with his buddies from the military. The brothers he served with. And things are just getting started when he runs into Ali. Ali who he had to break it off with so long ago, but who he never stopped thinking about. Ali who he genuinely cared for, but it just wouldn't work at the time. Now that he has found her again he wants to see if he can get her to forgive him and give him another chance. Now if only she would stop snooping around places she is not supposed to be. It is making things trickier than they should be, but he will also help her if he can and she opens up to him.

Now these two have some issues with communication that makes the road to happily ever after a little bumpy. They make assumptions based on past experiences and what other have done and they have to work a little harder to make things work, but I really enjoyed watching them try. It was a fun read and both of these characters were great. Now I can't wait for the updated third book!

Dear Sebastian,

I love the way that you and Ali met and the subsequent run-ins afterwards. Ali sure likes to show you her ass, huh? I think the way that you guys became better friends with each new run in and when you decided to take your attraction to her a step further was sweet and realistic.
I think that your family sucks ass and I wish that you didn't have to deal with them or that they would've seen the light while you were away, just like you had wished. I hate that your dad thinks that he has control over your life and the way that you choose to live it. I hate that he screwed Ali's family a long time ago and that it came back to bite you in the ass. I really do hope that you and Ali can find your happy ever after without his interference.
I'm sorry that you guys lost Gavin but, honestly, I'm still unsure of what happened to him. It's still not really been told what exactly happened and I'm still curious why Harper was investigating it in Duty Bound (Book #1). I wish I had a clearer understanding of the actual events and why both you and Levi feel guilty. I mean I get it, you were with him and he was your friend, so there's always guilt that it should have been you or that there was something you could have done, but maybe it's something more?
I'm also interested in the learning more about your security company. I wish that your story had been longer and had delved deeper into the facts. Hopefully each story will add more pieces to the big picture. Declan and Cole will be getting their story, right?

Thanks for your service,
Jaime

Protecting the Enemy is book 2 in the Protectors Series by Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams. Two amazingly great authors.

This book is a wonderful 2nd chance at love story. Ali and Sebastian were high school sweethearts. Their lives took separate paths. Sebastian to the military and Ali's dreams of attending college were crushed when she had to get a job to support and take care of her family.

Fate causes their paths to cross again. Sebastian would like a second chance but Ali has a lot of hurt and justifiable reservations. Sebastian proves over and over again that he's there for her. What a prince!

I love these two together. This is a great heartwarming read!

Redemption of Love

Having the weight of your family on your shoulders sucks and sucks the life out of you daily. Especially after having your dad and thousands of others wrongly left from they're jobs and your family is practically left in pieces. Ali is determined to right the wrongs by exposing the Maxwells has done to her family. Even if that means getting to resist her feelings for Sebastian.

Sebastian has secured a job for the guys' and his security firm that they decided to start in the first book. But his job is connected to his father which he hates much and wants to be free from his father's company so badly; with his father there are always strings attached. They are the same strings that ruined his relationship with Ali 12 years ago.

Both of them had to get their freedom in different ways. Sebastian had to finally cut his father loose by practically blackmailing his father with proof. And Ali by shaking the responsibility with worn her own father.
