This story is so different from the other stories I've read. It's a contemporary novel with a teenager. All Sarah Dessens' books have that theme, but it's also set in the summer. This story was so interesting because now a days almost all parents are divorced and the kids don't believe in real love anymore. My parents are still together and I believe in real love, but it's interesting to read a book that has a different view of it.

As this book was my first Sarah Dessen book to pick up, I was really looking forward to reading it. However, sad as it is, I really did not enjoy this book! For me, it felt like I was dragging my way through it and nothing seemed to happen! I was consistently disappointed throughout the events of this novel. I just don't have much to say. That being said though, I find it unfair to just diss an author because of one book, so I think I'm going to try another of her books and hopefully I'll like it more!!
Actual rating 4.5. This book was really good. I loved all the characters except Remy. I thought that she was a little annoying at the beginning of the book, but then at the end she got a little better. You could really see the character development of Remy at the end of the book. I would recommend this to fans of Stephanie Perkins. I'm looking forward to reading more of Sarah Dessen in the future.
